Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell Review | Game Trailers

GT: "Saints Row is known for reveling in the absurd. In the last game, Saints Row IV, you become the president of the United States, acquire super powers, and slaughter hundreds of aliens inside a virtual city. It only makes sense then that the standalone expansion for Saints Row IV takes place in hell where Shakespeare, Blackbeard, and Vlad the Impaler all become your allies against satan. For as crazy as it sounds, though, Gat Out of Hell is business as usual in the most mundane way possible. While the enjoyable core of the series is present, it lacks the usual spark, making it an entirely forgettable side story."

Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell (PlayStation 4) Review - Push Square

Added: 22.01.2015 15:10 | 6 views | 0 comments

Push Square: "Gat Out of Hell provides a few more hours of fun for those who adored Saints Row IV, but it'll quickly outstay its welcome if you aren't down with the gang. It'll also prove to be a confusing and bogus journey for newcomers, so we recommend grabbing the full package on the PS4 if you're not even sure who Johnny Gat is. With entertaining powers and some great new weapons, the standalone expansion holds its own but don't expect your otherworldly vacation to be anything more than a quick and familiar break."

AOTF: "Saints Row IV hasnt had a shortage of downloadable content since its 2013 release. How the Saints Saved Christmas and Enter the Dominatrix both launched as part of the Season Pass for the game. These wild, over-the-top additions have given players a reason to keep coming back to Saints Row, even though even the most ardent of fans wouldnt call them challenging, meaningful, or anything other than dumb fun. Gat out of Hell, a standalone expansion for Saints Row IV aims to be more of that with mixed results."

ZTGD | Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell Review

Added: 22.01.2015 14:11 | 5 views | 0 comments

Ken McKown writes: The Saints Row franchise has come a long way. Starting off as a clone of another popular open-world crime simulator, the series has spun off into ridiculous directions, with each iteration raising the bar for insanity. Gat Out of Hell takes this one final step by tossing our protagonists into the underworld and adding the power everyone has been clamoring for: flight. Even with minimal upgrades this $20 stand-alone expansion packs enough punch to drag me back into the world one last time before we get a proper upgrade to the new consoles.
